Pray for Us

Here at CAMP CHARA we understand the importance of prayer and don't underestimate the power of it either.
Praying for one of our staff members specifically and by name is a valuable gift to our ministry and the best way to join hands with us in the work. Contact us with your willingness to pray and we will be glad to inform how.

Give a Scholarship

Want to join our efforts but not sure where to start?
Paying the way for a Teen to attend a week of Camp is a great way to contribute to our cause and make a lasting impact in the life of an individual. Every little bit counts!

CORE VALUES

In order to have unity among the leaders and other staff members, everyone has to have the same values. Here are several core values based on scripture that all volunteers are required to know and commit to follow.

"How do we become unified? It is not by any man’s opinion; the scripture is the place to look to be unified; The TRUTH will hold everything together." -Annonymous

1. The Bible is our foundation for everything: all that we do must have a biblical purpose.

It is so important that we handle the Word of God carefully, and correctly.

- 2 Timothy 2:15 - Matthew 4:4 - Psalm 12:6 - Revelation 22:19 - 2 Timothy 3:16-17

2. Live the Bible

Because everything we do is based on the Holy, perfect, true, Word of God, we as leaders must live what we are teaching. We study it, believe it, and apply it to every aspect of life.

- Colossians 3:16 - Ephesians 6:17 - Hebrews 4:12 - Isaiah 55:11 - James 1:21-23 - Luke 11:28

3. Serve

In serving the ultimate servant, Jesus Christ, we lovingly care for and help one another, campers and staff, in any way we can. Denying our own selves and using the gift of ministering that God has given to us. - Philippians 2:3-8 - 1 Peter 4:9-10 - 1 Samuel 12:24 - Mark 10:45 - Matthew 25:35-40

4. Build Relationships

We follow Jesus Christs example of discipleship and friendship by taking time to invest in and valuing relationships with campers and other staff members.

- 1 John 1:3-7 - Hebrews 10:24-25

5. Rely on God

We rely on God by allowing Him to direct our steps today and in the future. We walk by faith, and trust in Him to do all the work and provide all that we need to do His will. Recognize that God does not need us to help Him work, He simply invites us to join Him where He is already working. - 2 Corinthians 5:7 - Job 2:9 - Ephesians 2:8-10 - Proverbs 3:5-7 - Psalm 37:4

6. Continue to Grow

We steward our God-given resources to continually improve on everything we do. Allowing God to grow ourselves, the campers, and fellow leaders is so important in a camp setting. We share the truth in a distraction-free environment conducive to spiritual growth. We ask God to produce lasting spiritual change in people’s lives.

- Colossians 3:23 - 1 Corinthians 3:6-9 - Romans 12:1-2
